Jackson, was a scary guy - some sort of Grim Reaper. Every year he picks a costume with a mask and says he'll wear it. And then, the night of the big show, he is maskless. No worries.... just glad to see he is consistent, not to mention safe (no tripping while t or treating).
And then there was Collin. His mask was freaky. He still has it and every now and again, will just appear up the stair well or around a corner. It freaks me out every time. :) At first glance, it isn't that scary, but when you see it and are not expecting, this thing kills ya.
When we were growing up, I use to taunt my little brothers and sister at night about "the man with the purple glasses" in the playroom window. To this day, the thought of that window is still a little freaky. You had to run past it down the hall in order to not be seen. :) Well Julie, this is that man's face. Freaky huh! :)
We had a great night of trick or treating. We headed down to Grandma Dopp's for soup, treats, and trick or treating. Jackson was determined to stay out as long as everyone else, but after a few blocks, his feet were tired. Poor kid. He even planned ahead and made sure his supports were in his shoes. His feet and body are just not great at endurance. After dropping off Jacks and the littles, Collin and the other die hard cousins hit the rest of our usual route, including the "Cotton Candy" house.
I love that certain homes are known for great treats. Growing up, I remember anxiously awaiting dad's return from work. Most years, dad was in charge of picking up the Halloween handouts at our house. As long as he could swing it, he always tried to hand out something awesome. A few memorable items were cans of pop and an entire box of Cracker Jacks.
Sadly, other than the Cotton Candy house, our other regular who doled out full size candy bars had moved. Shoot guys. Maybe we'll hit it big next year with a new favorite stop on the route.
Even though it's almost Valentine's Day.... Happy Halloween!
PS - Lex was AWOL. She decided a friend party sounded like more fun that T or Treating with the fam. Sniff! I'll try not to be too offended though. I know she'll come back to us one day. :)
